Sylvia Hubner was a research assistant at the Chair of Entrepreneurship of Prof. Matthias Baum and completed her doctorate there.

The research profile is initially derived from the individual profiles of the fields of study. In addition, cross-disciplinary topics such as sustainable corporate management are also dealt with. Especially in the case of externally funded projects, there are cooperative relationships with other departments or affiliated institutes and other universities. With its third-party funding per professorship, the department is at the top of the economic faculties.

Modelling of investment decisions under uncertainty in capital markets, and the investigation of the behaviour of agents with subjective expectations in OLG models.

The research focuses on organizations in particularly dynamic contexts. The research focuses on numerous current phenomena, such as processes of change through digital technologies or the handling of social challenges such as the refugee crisis. Theoretically, the research is guided by the focus on organisational routines, processes and practices, as well as by temporal and spatial dimensions.

The theory-based empirical research of the department is devoted to practice-oriented questions on current challenges that require responsible and innovative action in and by organizations. It addresses the management of the risk of corrupt behaviour, demographic change and diversity as well as digital transformation, intrapreneurship in organisations and strategic international human resources management.

Processing of practice-relevant questions from the field of industrial goods and services production. For decision support, operational decision problems are represented as mathematical optimization models. For the solution of these decision problems quantitative methods from the field of Operations Research are applied.
