The Alumni Association of the School of Business and Economics at RPTU in Kaiserslautern was founded in 1996 as a section of the "Freundeskreis der Universität Kaiserslautern e.V.". The Alumni Association of theSchool of Business and Economics at RPTU in Kaiserslautern promotes the interests of students and graduates of the School of Business and Economics at RPTU in Kaiserslautern as well as the interests of the entire University in co-operation with the Circle of Friends. It is a concern of the Alumni Association,

• to establish a network of Kaiserslautern economists,
• to strengthen the ties between economists and the University, and
• to further improve the reputation of the School of Business and Economics at RPTU in Kaiserslautern and the Friends of the RPTU.

The Friends of the University of Kaiserslautern e.V. was founded in 1969 by citizens of the city and the entire region, even before the university was founded. The Circle of Friends has succeeded in establishing a connection between the university and the population through a wide range of activities. The Circle of Friends:

• promotes excursions and cultural events,
• supports the University's public relations work and building projects, e.g. the construction of the International Meeting Centre on campus,
• awards prizes for outstanding theses and dissertations and
• maintains a hardship fund with bridging loans for students in need.
